I have completed planning sheets that helped structure my audio project. Planning helps a lot with your project because by knowing when and what you need to create helps you actually do the practical. Also by knowing what you’ve already done helps you not to get confused.

Spotting Sheet:

A spotting sheet is where you record each sound at a specific time, one after the other. A spotting sheet is really helpful because you’re able to look at what time a sound is needed and you know what the next sound is. Also by writing down what sound needs to be made helps you with the other sheets. For example it helps to know what risks may happen, what objects are needed for each sound. And when you’re logging what you have created it makes it easy for you to do it in order.

Log Sheet:

A logging sheet is a sheet where you log all the sounds you’ve created and what track number you have recorded that sound on. So when it comes to editing you know what track number is the specific sound. By using a logging sheet it makes it a lot easier to know what you’ve done and what number is next. Also for editing because you’ve wrote down the track number for the certain sound, it makes it easier for you to label the sounds for when you’re going to edit on Audition.

Cue Sheet:

A cue sheet is a lot like the spotting sheet but holds more detailed information. For example with a cue sheet you write down what objects you’re going to use to make the Foley sounds and how you’re going to create them. However it does not hold the time like it does on the spotting sheet. A cue sheet is helpful for when you’re recording because you’ve already wrote down what you’re doing and how you’re going to do it, so it’s a lot less time consuming for when it comes to doing the practical.

Risk Assessment:

A risk assessment is a sheet where you write down the risks that may occur and the hazards that will come from them. This is helpful for when it comes to doing the practical because you know what to be careful of and what may occur if you’re not careful. It’s really vital and safe to have a risk assessment because it makes you aware of the risks that could happen, that you may not have thought of when doing the practical.
